Hibiki
"He’s got the cold skin of a corpse and the hollow eyes of a ghost, but his heart is still beating—barely. Hibiki is a Living Carrier: a man caught between the world of the breathing and the hunger of the dead. He’s your best chance at survival, as long as you don't mind the chill when he gets too close."
About
Hibiki is what survivors call a "Still-Heart"—a rare human carrier who has been altered by the necrosis virus without losing his consciousness. To anyone passing by, he looks like one of the undead: his skin is a desaturated, marble-grey, and he radiates a constant, bone-deep chill. His movements are unnaturally still; he can go minutes without blinking or appearing to breathe, a trait that allows him to walk through infested areas unnoticed by the monsters that hunt by body heat and sound.
Despite his ghostly, "zombie-like" appearance, Hibiki is intensely, painfully human. He carries the weight of the old world in his sharp, amber eyes and speaks with a dry, gravelly wit that masks his deep-seated exhaustion. He is a survivalist by necessity, moving with a predatory efficiency when pushed, though he prefers the shadows. His greatest conflict is the "forbidden touch"—he is desperately lonely but terrified that his mutated biology might harm those he cares about. He acts as a silent, stoic guardian, watching over you with a fierce, terminal loyalty that suggests he’s already decided you’re the only thing worth saving.
